Salem Electric Service Policies provide helpful information for members, the electrical and building trades, and the employees and representatives of Salem Electric. Salem Electric Bylaws and Service Policies constitute rules and regulations pursuant to Salem Electric, are binding upon all members of Salem Electric, and are part of all oral and written contracts for furnishing and receiving electric service.
For information on assistance available to our members, please contact our office. To donate to member assistance complete the SE Round Up Donation Form and round up the cents on your monthly billing statement to help members in need with a credit to their electric bill.
Salem Electric provides members the opportunity to improve local native fish and wildlife habitats by participating in the Habitat Improvement Program (HIP).
Salem Electric is offering a $3,000 scholarship to an individual interested in pursuing a career in the field of electrical linework by attending the Vocational Outside Line Training Academy (VOLTA) or the Northwest Lineman College.
Salem Electric is a not-for-profit cooperative corporation that delivers electricity to their consumer-members at cost. To sign up for service, a completed membership application must be received by Salem Electric’s office two (2) business days prior to the requested service connect date.
Salem Electric's rates are established by a seven-member board of directors elected by the membership. The Schedule of Charges includes connect, disconnect, and reconnect charges as well as line extension and new construction charges.
Salem Electric is pleased to support fundraising efforts for our local community. Logos may be used in your organization's promotional materials after receiving approval from Salem Electric. Please leave adequate white space around the logo and do not alter Salem Electric's logos in any way. Acceptable colors are blue, black, and white. EPS and AI files are available by request. High school juniors and seniors who live in Salem Electric's service area can apply for an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C. to learn about the electric utility industry and how the Federal legislative process works. The application deadline is 5:00 p.m. January 21, 2025. Trip dates are June 15–22, 2025. Additional information is available on our Youth Tour page.
